\r\n\r\n \r\n \r\n what is the exact example? Many times it just a matter of modifying your localhost file on your actual machine. usually found on you c drive. Try this and see if this might make sense to you (I\'m using windows 7 but the path will be similar for xp).\r\n
\r\n
\r\nAccess your hosts file:MAKE A COPY BEFORE YOU MAKE ANY CHANGES TO YOUR FILE!!! If something goes wrong and it will eventually, clear it and start back fresh from your file copy.
\r\nEX: Starting from your desktop go to - My Computer - C drive - windows - system32 - drivers - etc - hosts - Now open \'hosts\' file with note pad and add the modifications needed or change the \'hosts\' files as needed for whatever you are trying to do, usually there will be a note stating that you need to add something similar to this: 127.035.265 somewherenottotalkto.com to your file. Simply copy and paste the additional info or edit whatever it is that they suggest and click save. Open your hosts file again to make sure it has the suggested modifications listed and go play...
\r\n
\r\n AGAIN - MAKE A COPY OF THE HOSTS FILE BEFORE YOU MAKE ANY CHANGES TO YOUR FILE!!! If something goes wrong and it will eventually, clear it and start back fresh from your backup file.
\r\n
\r\nWindows 7 is slightly different than xp but the host file will be approximately in the same area. Sometimes the host file will be a hidden file and you need to un-check the hide system files option. You can also use your search function to search for the path to your \'HOSTS\' file on the c drive.
\r\n
\r\nBe aware that you are making a change to the basic operating system of your machine. Before you do this go to your system restore and create a new restore point. If you are completely new to installing \'cracked\' software I would also suggest that you make a recovery disc copy of your system files and store it on an external hard drive. In the event something goes wrong and/or you get infected (as you will eventually) you can start over.
\r\n
\r\nMake a complete back up of all information you value. back up any programs you like and have the registration information for. In other words before you venture down this path - make sure you have a copy of everything!
\r\n
\r\nWith that said, have fun - Our forum is great and there is a ton of useful information here. I am not so cautious with the information i get here, but when I am playing out in the open seas I use extreme caution.
\r\n
\r\nOne last suggestion - never use you \'work\' computer (the computer that adds to your financial well being) to search for \'cracked\' programs and \'good stuff.\' At some point you will get something, the computer will lock, you will try all the tricks and realize that you have to start from scratch, you will also realize you haven\'t backed up in a while, you will say a profanity! The moral of this is that down time and the lost information is VERY costly! More than the \'good stuff\' ever was in the first place.
\r\n
\r\nHope this helps
\r\n
\r\nP.S. I forgot to mention - ADMIN (rights) - I am always logged into my computer as the administrator. Before you can make modifications to your system files you have to have administrator rights. If you can\'t make changes or it won\'t let you you are probably not logged in as an admin. It will usually tell you this, and sometimes it won\'t let you even if you are logged in as admin.... welcome to the fun!\r\n
